I am bringing my horse home in a couple of weeks. I will need to ride him from the stables to mine. Its only about an hour hack, but will have to do it alone. He is pretty well behaved, but can spook at the usual dogs barking, cows, sheep etc etc. All of which we will be passing plenty of. I am completely confident riding him with others, we are usually leader of the hack as well. But he is only 6 so still young. I am just really nervous about doing it alone and have heard rescue remedy works for us and horses. Anyone used it before?

i have tried some ofy friends rescue remedyt seems to work well and many people i know use it i have heard that it works for horses too, sadly i could have done with some for my nutty pony last week!!

Hi Quartz,

I have some of this and have used on my horse from time to time. He can be the stressy type. The best effect I have seen it is when he had a terrible incident in the trailer - he clambered over the breast bar and exited out through the jockey door and unsuprisingly got stuck! A lady at the event emptied half a bottle of this into him and suprised as I was it did seem to have an effect! Other times I couldn't be too sure if it had had an effect or if it was my imagination - however it doesn't do an harm so I can see no harm in trying - like wise with you. If you are nervous the horse will pick up on this so he / she will be nervous too! I would suggest that you both take it - good luck! Also try singing! I know this sounds a bit mad but when my horse has a 'moment' out hacking and starts to bounce it really can help. It makes you breathe, gives the horse something to listen to and you something to concentrate on other than gremlins hiding in bushes.....

Best of luck!

ive used it. it wont do any harm so worth a try. also, walnut is the flower remedy for change of circumstances so is good for moving home too

I have used this myself and at different times have given my girl some as well, and yes it does seem to work, so I would say give it a go you have nothing to loose hope all goes well for you
