"Many years ago I had a couple of bad falls from my horse while jumping and ever since I have stuck to schooling and hacking, I don't think I've even done 1 jump since! I have tried but the legs just turn to jelly and I don't feel it's fair on the horse to carry on if I'm feeling so nervous! But I am desperate to try again, as I know we can do it! Has anyone ever used Rescue Remedy for nerves and does it work? Or does anyone have any suggestions of something else I could try?"

further my above thread a couple of days ago ........

I did it!!!!! Yehhhhhhhh

After taking Rescue Rememdy for a couple of days, I really surprised myself last night, but we did some jumping! Only a couple of small cross poles and most people would no doubt have laughed at me cos they were tiny, but I am well chuffed!! Only had 1 jump where I thought "hold on, don't fall off", Fred just jumped big and unseated me a little. Feel like I want to do more jumping now!

yay well done! :D If you're interested the hypnotherapy cd's you can buy are really good too. I used one after a fall - I couldnt even walk over a pole on the floor without breaking down in tears (pathetic I know lol) but I used the cd and decided stuff it, took my horse to a SJ comp (throw myself in at the deep end). We went in the practice ring and I jumped the cross pole that was up without a second thought, then did the course and even though I nearly fell off I carried on and finished it :D I have the XC cd at the minute which is good aswell.

You can get them on ebay still I think and some of the online tack shops used to do them.

Hope your confidence comes flooding back :D

Well done, :) thats great and its the first step that needs to be taken to get you back on track. I tried RR a couple of years ago but I`m not sure if it helped or not TBH. But it may be a placebo effect, or the alcohol lol... We`ll never know. :)
