Used it today for the first time to hack out, had a friend with me on foot as horse isn't confident on his own. He plants his feet and/or tries to nap. We've only had him since September and what with the weather etc havn't got a huge amount of riding done. He can also be naughty to groom and won't stand, he yanks at lead rope trying to break it.

Anyway I gave use both a dose first thing when I put him out, I was already feeling nervous (gave him 12 drops and me 4 drops). Dosed myself again about an hour before going back to yard (I wasn't feeling nervous at all by this point :)) gave horse another dose about 20mins before I got him in to groom and he was much better than normal, ate his hay net which he normally ignores. I gave us both another dose before getting on!! Was probably overdosed on rescue remedy by this point but I didn't have my normal butterflies!

Unfortunately horse was his normal self on hack, planting feet and trying to nap so don't think it worked for him, have come to the conclusion that trying to get him out solo isn't going to work but have a few people lined up to ride with or to come out on foot with us. Thank god I had friend with me today! He isn't nasty but is big (16.3hh) and bl***y stubborn.

However I definately feel it helped me big time, so will definately carry on using it xx

I used to use RR when my mare was young and i was doing stressage for the first time in my life, i,m sure it helped me just to think it was helping!
good luck getting to know your boy when the weather improves, the winter is not a good time to get to know each other. It will be worth having some lessons on him when you get the chance and keep taking the RR.

Definately going to get some lessons as have a really good instructor who knew horse in his last but one home so knows what he can be like! Just waiting for field to dry out a bit as we don't have a school.
