Ooohh it's fab!!!

I get horrendous nerves bsja & up until Cat got ill, it was working really well. It stops me getting so fluttery & puts me in a more philosophical frame of mind.

The key point is, once I'd been to a few shows & hadn't got worked up to fever pitch, I stopped **anticipating** getting stressed. So I was getting progressively better with each show.

I think it's about £6 for a bottle but it lasts ages.

I've now had 9 months off bsja as Cat had a long illness & then died, but will be digging out the RR in a week or 2 when I start jumping new horsie.

You'll probably think I'm mad but I read that in Victorian times when there were millions of horses in everyday use around - often poorly broken - the knowledgeable horsemen used to put lavender oil on the horses to calm them before a ride. Well, I'm not the bravest of riders (ahem) and now swear by a lavender spray: a liberal squirting on Sunny's chest and my thighs before we go for a hack. Not nec for schooling. I have absolutely no idea if it works but (a) never had any problems to date touch wood and (b) we smell like a tart's boudoir whenever we ride out!!!! Gotta be good! I reckon if you believe a product works, it will! Good luck xxx

This is a well known trick that stallion men used to use - they used to tie a cloth soaked in lavender oil onto a stallion's headcollar and swore it calmed them down. We have lots of lavender planted in pots around our stable yard, could be the reason my lot are such a chilled out bunch.

I'm about to try something called Pax, which is a spray that apparently soothes the horse when it smells it, similar to the lavender theory I suppose.

I used it for the first time last week as last season I used to get crippling nerves before XC. Having used it last week and this weekend and gone clear in both, with a much more positive frame of mind, I would highly recommend!

Thanks for putting this post up, I was going to ask the same!
I have just bought some RR because I am having a total mental block about jumping which is making my normally good jumper into a refusal knightmare!

To the point that I went XC schooling on Saturday and I felt sick with nerves I could hardly jump a thing. If I don't sort myself out I think I will end up ruining a very good horse
