I feel I rescued my little filly. I stupidly went to see some Newforest foals for sale and of course couldn't walk away without ones as they were all in such a sorry state. My filly was really skinny, had a huge wormy stomach. She had rain scould on her back and lice and gunky eyes. All the foals were running around terrifyed when you went in the pen with them except her, it was as if she had just given up. She was 4/5months old and had been taken off her mum too early. I could have cried. Now she's a loving, cheeky little yearling! So here are my before and after pics....(I can only find one after having her for a week or so)

aww he is gorgeous! how old is he now? how big do you think he will make?

my filly was about 10.1hh when I got her. She's now 14months old and about 12hh, hoping she makes 13.2hh so I can ride her comfortably :)

He is 26 months old now. He was. 11.2hh at 8 months and is now 13.2hh so hopefully make 13.3hh (i'd love for 14hh but not holding my breath!) When Howie was 14 months old he was about 12.1hh so you should be ok!

Trigger turned up, uncatchable. Laminitis in all 4, lice, sweetitch, mats and area where he had rubbed raw.

I just wanted to say, you have all done really well with your rescues. Captain wasn't a rescue as such but he was very thin when we bought him.

Captain when we got him. He is a 17-2hh KWPN Gelderlander. Not great piccys but you get the idea, he looked like a toast rack, you coud see every bone.

Good on you for posting this, not all rescue cases are stick thin but many would over look a fat pony as not " in need " so to speak.

Gilly 3YO on the day i got him, his eye was so badly infected he couldnt open it and no one would treat it.

Gilly 5YO, he lost that eye and has since broke his jaw, but i wouldnt swap him for the world :)

I guess I rescued Kao. He was called Dodger (ew, it just doesn't suit him).
The agreement was, if I wanted to sell him I had to sell him back to them...fat chance, he's mine. Forever ^_^

I was given mixed opinions when I first got him. So n00b told me to leave him a field for 2-3months  He's feral after 3 days of me not handling him, let alone just leaving him for that long.
Saddle is now on order *yay* but I have been working on my bareback riding, and...*drumroll* we got a canter down the long side the other day!
I don't ride him for any more than 5mins (I'm out of breath after that) and even then we plod on the buckle of the reins incase I slip off the edge ^_^

He isn't a tradional, We're almost 100% sure he's part Clyde and I think the rest of him is some sort of TB x Paint...His face is too pretty to be a workman cob :D

Technically not a rescue because her owner loved her very much but didnt have the facilities to work with her.
When I got her she was very nervous and would cower in terror if approached.
Within 2 months she was backed & proving to be a bombproof hack.
