I'm helping a researcher who is looking at the gut bacteria balance in horses and how it affects their health. We are looking for poo samples from a horse which can't digest haylage. I mean the horses that squit for Britain on haylage, but have normal poo when fed hay.

Do you have one, and if so would you be prepared to parcel up a sample and post it, postage reimbursed?

Please PM me if you can help, it's very important research linking human and horse health. In humans, there appear to be implications for asthma, obesity and c. difficile

You will be rewarded with a complete map of your horse's microbiome, but if you can make sense of it you're better educated than me :)

Thanks :)

We could do with one more if anyone else out there has one. Preferably a horse over 4 years and over 15.2::), just to give us a spread.

I will help, my horse is 16.2, 7yrs and cannot tolerate haylage at all. I will PM you this evening. Using phone atm.

Fantastic, thanks :)

I think three is all Michael needs at the moment. Will keep everyone updated with his results in time.

Will ask my friend tomorrow morning. Hers fits that description. As luck would have it, I'm a scientist who worked in gastrointestinal disease for a few years, so I can help her with the findings!
