Who, despite her injury, rode Valegro at Addington today, and won her AM open section by a mile. Plus, part of the time she warmed up without stirrups. RESPECT to that girl!!!!

. Valegro gave her a tricky ride too. She's an incredible trooper and a super rider.

Well done to her! She is a pretty amazing rider! I saw her at the BD convention last year and JB spent a lot of his time saying nothing other than "show us some X so we can enjoy how well you do it"!!! She was pretty brilliant!

Didn't know she'd been injured - what's been the problem? She is a lovely rider and all credit to her with all the hard work she puts in

I'm so glad she's back riding ok.

Booboos, I agree that was brilliant last year to watch her making everything look to effortless.

From what I've heard - I'm sorry but don't have huge amount of respect for anyone who rides a horse known to be difficult and likely to be a handful without a hat on - her head injury could well have cost her her life and almost certainly would have been much less if she'd been wearing a crash hat..........

What an incredibly nasty thing to say.

How do you know whether she was wearing a hat or not? How do you know that she was riding a "horse known to be difficult"? And even if both of these were the case - how is it any of your business what choices a top professional rider makes about how she rides her horses?

Besides, my respect for Charlotte was for getting back in the saddle and winning the AM regionals a few days after a bad fall. Nothing to do with what she may or may not have had on her head at the time. Valegro was being a bit hot but she still took her stirrups away in the warmup - I suppose that was dangerous too.......

Halfstep, iirc the report said that she got bucked off a youngster. i don't recall it saying anything about her headwear. she suffered a burst eardrum which i guess no hat could protect against?
like you, i admire her hugely for getting back in the saddle so fast and obv being able to ride so well after a nasty fall.
