I have a 3 yr old gelding who is very in your face leading he has improved, he is just is very nippy comes up to you in the field trying to nip. When poo picking he will come over and stand in your space, and follow you around does anyone have any tips ? Teeth have been checked.

Joe Midgely has online videos covering handling on the ground and getting control of the body (goodhorsemanshipchannel.co.uk). He has just bought a weanling and is videos his every step with him, that might cover something relative too.

Warwick Schiller has lots of videos online if you search YouTube. I'm sure the Principles of Training series are available free on youtube too. He definitely covers issues like this and mouthy/nipping horses

yes, remove him from the field before you go poo picking. It won't take very much for him to challenge you with either his teeth or hind legs, you may not be able to defend yourself and send him away and you could get hurt.

For the rest when you are handling him on no account does he come into your space. He must respect that. If he comes towards you get him backing away quickly out of your space. If he tries to nip when you are handling him correct him by kicking his front leg with your foot. That will surprise him.

There are so many accidents in fields with loose horses. I would remove him whilst he is being rude for your own safety. Do him good to stand in the stables and educate him to be independent.

It is really easy to teach him to stand away from you and respect your space. He moves when you ask him to and if you turn to face him he must step back as you walk towards him. Mr Blue Pipe and a rope halter is how I teach them to not walk all over me. Many won't agree, but mine are 17h plus I can do without being pushed around.

Set simple rules and never bend them.
