my 3 year old had surgery for ocd 3 months ago. he had 1 extremely mild lesion in his right stifle, his other was clean which was very good news. He was on stall rest for 7 weeks then in a small paddock for a week and a half, then in a larger field for a week by himself. He's now back in with his mates in his normal field, its flat but quite large. I feel like there is an improvement however today he looked a tad sore again. I'm worried in case his recovery has been rushed, even tho all the action i've took has been recommended to me by an experienced vet.
has anyone else had a similar expierence and how long did it take your horse to come sound, (i no theres a chance of him never being sound), when finally back out with their mates. Its been hard to diagnose him i think as the OCD was the mildest both his usual vet and surgical vet had ever seen, so much so they dont no whether it was OCD or just a defect. he basically had to tiny pebble like lumps in his cartilage.
