A lovely coloured shetland stallion YO had taken on to rehome was found in his stable very poorly yesterday.

Though he managed to get to his feet and walk out to a grassy patch when the vet arrived, he soon collapsed and it was decided to put him to sleep.

Rest in peace George.

He'd been at the yard for a couple of months, hadnt been mistreated or anything, His owner was quite old and couldnt cope with the number of ponies he had.

We dont know what was wrong with him. He was fine up until he was found in the morning. Can only think he's been poisioned by something, although we cant think where he would have picked anything up (he had been seperated from the others because he fought with them).

horses amaze me,i know it is instinct and survival, but these guys never show pain unless severe they just get on and do what is natural, but how many are in pain and still do for us,when we know the behaviour smetimes they show with us is NOT what they would do in the wild! This little guy for example, soooo poorly yet he still was going to get out and have his grass, what a fighter, what do we do when we are ill, complain
