I'm currently taking the floor out of my trailer which is a 1998 Richardson. It's a double wood floor and only rotted due to water getting in and non-use.

To make sure everything is put back right I've measured every bit and found the internal height to be just over 2metres, does this mean it wldnt take a horse over 15.2hh?

Also any tips on restoring? Think I'm going to do the ramps as well as the floor. Be good to get an idea about materials to use etc

I used to have a richardson supreme rosette, which is the smallest Richardson, so it will depend on the model you have what horse you can fit in. There was always loads of headroom in mine, but it wasn't very wide or very long so you may find a larger horse wouldn't have much room within the partition, however, if you're just travelling one you could remove partition and go full breast and breach to give the horse more room :)

I think mine must be the same as it's 156wide and just over 3m long.
What did you travel in yours? I do have a full breast bar but no full breech bar so would have to get one made.

I had a 13.3 connie and a 14.2 welsh d who is a beast and probably the width of a 16hh horse! Tbh you could probably get up to 15.2 in the partition as long as it's not heavily built not long in the back! Without the partition you could get a bigger/heavier horse in.. again as long as the horse is short coupled lol

I measured the internal height incorrectly and it's actually over 7ft so feeling a bit happier about that.

Still would love to hear about other peoples restorations
