Vet didnt turn up yesterday, the girl wanting to buy her rang him up and he said he would come out today at 4pm, he arrives at 3pm and we were riding, got horses untacked and vet was standing stomping his foot, saying we could at least of been ready for him!!

Opened Jacadas stable door and she was standing munching her hay. Asked him if he wanted me to bring her out and he said no, he just stood and looked at her.

Said she failed and said it was because she has a twisted foot, i asked him to point it out and he pointed to her offside front foot, still not going near her. I personally couldnt see it but hes a vet so knows more than me.

When i told OH he said there is no way she has a twisted foot, he called our farrier who was up about a week or so ago, he knows us well and he said that there is no way her foot is twisted. He said the vet that was out is a small animal vet and to get my own vet out to do the vet check.

The girl who wants Jacada says herself she cant see the foot twisted, she used to have a horse before that had one. So now im waiting for my own vet to come. Shes still very much interested in Jacada, but understandably wants one that has passed a vet check.

How ridiculous of the first vet to agree to do an equine vetting if he has no expertise in the area! Seems very unprofessional, but have no idea whether there are internal vet standards/guidelines about such things. Hope the buyer isn't going to pay...

Good luck for the second attempt!

I used the vet a few years back for my dogs, he persuaded me to get one of my dogs PTS as he growled at him, he said that the dog was dangerous and he managed to make me think the same.

Dog was put down then and there, of course i regretted it. He was out with my horses before, he was the vet that said that Mia had 24 hours to live. Got current vet out who said she just had an infection, however if left untreated then she would have died.

She shouldnt actually fail even if she did have a twisted foot! If the horse is sound, i remember having one of my horses, which i sold two years ago vetted, a supposedly top vet, wont mention any names, mentioned to the purchaser that she had pulled both her front tendons!! like where?? i had owned this horse from very young and broken her etc and she had never done anything to her tendons, i think he said this as he new she had raced thats all, i was so furious i rang my own vet for her to have a scan should the purchaser require it, but she believed me and bought her anyway, and is very happy with her.

I told her to hold off paying to see what my vet says, i just dont like the thought of him saying that she has a twisted foot, oh he also said she has raised pastures.

The girl herself couldnt see anything wrong, my friend was up today and she cant see anything. I thought i was just blinded with the fact that she was mine and i think they are all perfect lol.

Tomorrow i shall take a picture of her and see what yous think
