Or, maybe sorry for posting again if you are bored of them, but on my last one quite a lot of you said you was looking forwards to hearing/seeing more, and your wish is my command :P

So I did say I was going to go out and jump a newcomers, however I also really wanted to try get another BN and disco DC. As always, I thought I had loads of time before northcote in two weeks, and as always I was wrong!

Anyway, back to Sunday before last, we popped to Port royal again to jump a BN and disco. It was so busy and so warm I felt such a bad mum as trying to keep Gracie cool was an almost impossible task. We did minimal warm ups, jumped our class and she got untacked and sponged off inbetween to try keep her cool.

Walked the BN, nice enough class. Was 4th to go and it was two-phase. She jumped a lovely first round, then when we got to about the 2nd jump in the jump off I thought I would just open her up a little for the first time, and she once again took to it like a duck to water. Some times she got a little excited and lost control of her legs but she gave it a go. It wasn't super quick, as I didnt ask for to much I just wanted to test the water a bit and was most pleased with another DC. The class was big for a normal Sunday. I think maybe 40-45 people in it? Anyway placings went to 6th and she didn't place which I wasn't worried about. However, I checked my record the other day and she finished 7th! So that was a nice little bonus.

So next up was the Disco. I got in nice and early here too, I was 2nd to go. Course walked nice and I opened her up quite a bit more in the jump off. Landed over the last looked at my time and was thoroughly impressed. Yes, cracking double clear I thought! Oh no, 2 time faults in the first phase! GRRRR! I have NEVER had time faults!! Couldn't work it out as obviously I wasn't pushing but we was not hanging around or overly slow. As the class went on though nearly everyone had time faults in the first round. 9-15 time faults in the first round was the general score of nearly every other combination, I actually think of all the time faults Gracie had the least. She once again jumped a cracking round though, just one of those things, had I of been later to go I would of noticed and pushed on but you know, live and learn.

So I am once again over the moon with her. In hindsight I probably should of jumped the newcomers as She hasn't jumped one so her first 1.10 will be 5yos at northcote as the lorry is having some work done this weekend, then she has physio next Saturday then we go to northcote on the Wed night. Regardless, I am ultra excited and just so grateful this lovely mare has given me the opportunity to take my own self produced 5yo to such an amazing show. I love her to bits :)
Thanks for reading, I promise we do go other places than port royal! :P

Fantastic results, but arg about the time faults! Watched the vid and agree the time must just have been very tight as although you've not got your foot to the floor I wouldn't have said it looked like you should have got time faults!

When is your class at northcote? It's not too far from me :).

We are going for the young horse champs. 2-5th june. She's jumping the 5yo qualifier on the Thursday and the Friday. And with some luck the championship on the Sunday but we will see! I've never been although friends have and said its a lovely venue and the Young horse show is a good show, so I'm excited :)

Lovely rounds, well done, You are a very quiet rider and I envy your hands ! I suspect you lost quite a bit of time in the air although the Discovery sounds as if it was measured very tightly.
Your flash strap seems to be quite low though, could you take this off possibly?
Not surprised you are very excited about her. She's really lovely isn't she, scopey and clever !
Good luck in the 5yos.

Thankyou, we loose a lot of time in the air! She's inbetween full and x full size bridles, so it is a bit of a weird fit!

Oo will see if I can come though I suspect work will get in the way so will keep everything crossed for a Sunday appearance! I've been to the dressage and showing, but before it was expanded, it's suppose to be fantastic now and it was pretty great beforehand :D.

Oh how exciting, I can't wait! Was hoping my 4yo would be ready but I think it's a bit to much to soon for him right now. You'll recognise me, I'm the midget on the big brown horse that will be 40 foot in the air and i'll be hanging on :P

:D excellent, though maybe you could let HHO know if you make it through so I don't look like a weirdo stalker to any small lady on a big brown horse :D.

Tried my baby horse over some jumps for the first time at the weekend (shes 3.5 and I can't bring myself to say shes 4 yet as she still so baby'ish ;)), think she liked it and was very pleased with her efforts :D, I might play her your vid's so she can see whats invloved if she doesn't fancy being a dressage horse :D.

Well done she looks great as usual. She is so careful.

Although I am surprised you got time faults the disco was a little slow. Her canter was more forward in the BN and I think that makes a nicer picture overall. It could of just been the heat though.

Good luck in the 5yo and I look forward to the report.

Yeah that would probably be a good idea if I do that. Is it bad I most hope Northcote has Wifi so I aren't without my laptop for 4 days :P Oh yeah mine is the same. He is grasping the idea slowly but surely although thinks jumping as upright as possible is how it's done instead of nice and round. I thinkhe'll need much more grid work than Gracie did :P

Yeah it was so hot, we was both sweaty which probably made her more sluggish! Upto the double near the gate was where the J/O started, and she was little over a min by that point. Thankyou, I'll report it regardless, good bad or ugly!
