I am moving at end of this month but will be moving again in the next month or two to somewhere else...(job involvement)

I want to do the kindest thing for her she is 24 next month still on box rest following a nasty injury some months ago and I would think she is ready to come off box rest shortly and start in hand walking and being turned out in small area, thing is i dont want to keep up sticking her cos of my travels that are needed, cant do full livery cant afford that.

Would she be better moving with me the two times that are needed or do I put her in a retirement livery?

I would personally feel like I would have abandoned her if she went to retirement livery but they give them round teh clock care dont they?
I have no idea what it involves really so am a bit scared about thinking of it and I would only do it for her sake it would destroy me not having her around to do.

So can I please have your thoughts and experience on this kind of livery...
thanks

I put my horse on retirement livery as like you, i knew i'd be moving around and i didn't want to have to worry about finding a companion home where they might ride my horse, or have to ask my Mum to check him all the time if i found grass livery. My horse is at Henryhorn's place in Devon, and moved there from Newcastle! So a long way away, but i decided that as i have no idea where i'm going to be after this year (in Manchester at the minute, then hopefully somewhere else in the Summer) that it didn't really matter where in the country he was, so long as it was someone great. I miss him loads, but i dare say he doesn't miss me much at all

Feel free to PM me any more questions and i'll answer, just don't want to go into prices etc on a public forum

I was looking into offering this as have a vast experience (for my age) with oldies and have the land. In my research I found a wide range of things involved, some offered a 'full' package, where everything was included (farrier, food, dentist, worming, stable etc) and they were pretty pricey and others offered a field & stable with someone checking on them which I thought was a little terrible.

After doing all my research and business planning, I realised that the majority of the prices seemed high but once you work it all out individually then they are about right. I have seen prices ranging from £40-75.

yes that seems to be the mark for this kind of livery...but i would want my mare to have it all included in the price but would only go to somewhere that has the experience dedication etc...
