Hi,
Has anyone got horses on retirement livery in the north east of england? Sadly my rising 8 year old gelding is very likely to be retiring soon due to a multitude of health issues. He's field sound and happy and I can't stand the thought of PTS while he is so happy, but our current livery yard wouldn't be ideal for his needs in this situation.
So, any recommendations? Happy to pay either inclusive with farrier/hay/worming etc organised and included, or to pay separately for those 'extras'. Ideally reasonably local as he's my heart horse and I can't stand the thought of not being able to see him regularly - the thought of handing over his care to someone else is challenging enough, so knowledgeable, caring people and regular updates is a must.
Alternatively, any good grass livery options available? I'm at Whitley Bay so would need to be within about 10/15 miles tops if I went down this option. Ideally in this case, a fairly stable herd that doesn't change too much.
Thanks in advance!
