Just wondering if anybody has their horses on a retirement livery if so what prices do people pay what is covered in the price, what would people like from a retirement livery and just general opinons on them. :)

Retirement livery to me would be same as normal livery but no exercise and or maybe living out with other retired horses and brought in daily for physical check and groom.

Price wise I haven't got a clue. Suppose it depends where abouts in Country and standard of grazing and care

A lot of people have requested retirement livery from me. I have a quiet peaceful yard. They seem to expect to get really cheap livery because its "retirement" but I still have to do the same amount of mucking out, turning out, hay, food, shavings etc.

If someone retires their horse and chooses to keep them stabled at a livery yard, then I see them as full livery but the owner chooses not to ride the horse. If they choose to put the horse out to grass then they are simply a grass livery.

Just to clarify: Around here full livery is mucking out, feeding, turnout/catch, hold for vet/farrier. Putting onto horsewalker if there is one available. No riding.

Riding/schooling/plaiting etc would be competition livery
