Retrieving a Boat

Very proud of family labrador today. Whilst walking around large park throwing floatable doggie toy for her to swim & retrieve a strange man came running up to us. First thought was Angry Park Ranger on the War Path

No he was a captain of a motorised boat which had broken in the middle of large lake & would / could my dog please rescue. Followed him around lake to waters edge & sent Bella into water....
She came back with motorised boat & applause of motorised boat folk. My dog the hero

Of course next week when she dives in and 'rescues' their boats that are working perfectly it will be a different story.........

What a clever dog - did you have any doubts that she would do it?

Re any doubts.. she is a retriever and will retrieve everything & anything. Anything in range is fare game, remote controls, shoes, she will often go into girls bedrooms & remove any offending item within reach... just hasn't learnt how to put dirty washing into laundry basket or toys into toy box.. still working on that.

Re broken boat sat her on the bank, held her head towards boat to focus before send.. If the motor had still been running then possibly not.

but I wouldn't have sent her to retrieve anything that could have harmed her..
