Have you ordered from companies that refund your postal charges if you have to return an item?

I ordered a fly sheet from Premier Equine and it is a touch small. I returned it yesterday and it was £8 to send first class, signed for on delivery. It was going to be over £20 for special delivery!

I hope the next one fits because this is becoming expensive. I am going to ask them if they refund postal cahrges for returns but I expect not.

If you have to pay for returns, there is a company on ebay which uses Royal Mail/Parcel Force slots at discounted rates. They come & collect the parcel from you and it is a really good service. I sent a saddle I sold on ebay for 7 quid a couple of weeks ago!

Most companies will only refund your postal costs if they have made a mistake or the product is faulty.

If you think about it, they would be refunding customers for choosing incorrect sizes and there isn't enough margin.

Asda and clothing brands can do it, because they are big enough to get discounted carriage rates. Plus they only sell own brands and their margins are bigger.

Unless the item was the wrong one or faulty, then I wouldn't expect my postage to be refunded. Clothing catalogues put so much on the price of their goods, and buy in such bulk that they get good discounts, that they can afford to offer free postage on returns.
