I don't like violence, however I have seen sabs shout abuse and get nasty, throwing stuff from a far and picking on kids and then when it comes to the real deal sh*t themselves when the lads have threatened to give them a shoe-in! I've thought, ye you deserved that you mouthy b*stards!

However if hunt monitors were peacefully monitoring or sabs were peacefully demonstrating (not trespassing) then no way would I think it right that our lot were violent towards them.

Hypocritical ay?! :smirk:

I think there is a bit of a 'victim syndrome' amongst some sabs. I'm not saying I approve of violence but it's not surprising that when people get very aggressive, constantly taunt and get in the way that they sometimes get lamped.

Try going into a pub on a saturday night and behaving in that way and you will get beaten up.

But if they were peacefull they would be antis.
Two very different types in my mind- antis dont agree/aprove of hunting foxes with hounds and demonstrate against it in a peacefull way.Dont agree with them but have nothing but respect for them.
Sabs are the b*stards who think its fun to hurt a child out hunting, hurt the horses/hounds then run crying to mummy when someone finaly hits them back.

All the time in the world for antis, want every sab strung up by somewhere painfull.
Violence is only ever OK in a ring.

Ah, I was thinking of 'sabs' as an extreme sub set of 'antis'.

I think the truth is that most people on both sides are quite reasonable really but then of course most people aren't on either side because most people couldn't give a damn either way.

Quite...anyone who teases or taunts a dog expects to get bitten....

Sabs are cowards!

Some of the videos of 'hunt terrorism' on you tube are a laugh. I get the feelijg that the sabs have spent weeks and weeks winding up the hunt to get those few seconds footage of them getting wacked.

And boy do they make the most of it.

I do have to admit I laughed on the 6th or 7th Hunting Days...they were still shouting abuse from a far afterwards.

Definately cowards.

Yeah I saw it, but funny how they didnt show the events leading up to the attack?!!!!

It was a silly thing for the hunts man to do but at the same time it may have been fully justified as we have no idea what happend beforehand!!!

Sorry to disapoint you but the whole of both days was on tape and the tape submitted to police when the complaints against the huntsmen were made. If the sabs had been up to anything the police would have charged them with something. The magistrates also watched the whole tape.

If those men wanted to fight why not get off the horse and fight men with fists? Why attack girls and try to trample people with horses and quads. It's about time people knew who the real cowardly terrorists were. Since the show went out I've lost count of the number of friends and family who have been shocked and outraged by the behaviour of the hunt.

The hunt film the sabs as much as sabs film the hunt but there seem to be more violent convictions against the hunt. Why so? Surely if they are constantly harrased and attacked by 'urban terrorists' sabs would be getting lifted left, right and centre and this is not happening.

People in the field haven't got a clue about what really happens as most of the violence occurs away from their eyes.

I would NEVER stick up for a sab who hurt anyone, man, woman, child, hound, horse. Pro's should be trying to rid hunting of thugs to project a better image if they want the bill repealed. Unfortunatly, pro's will defend anyone connected with the sport, whatever they do wrong.

To be perfectly honest though, this blame culture is really childish and I think we should concentrate on hunting as an animal welfare issue and not squabble over who did what to whom as that is a matter for the authorities and has no bearing on whether hunting is cruel or not.
