I'm having my trailer adapted to run reversing lights off the caravan socket of my truck.... the two lights are going above the current light board - will just be simple square white reversing lights and will only work when I put the truck into reverse

i'm also having additional internal lights put in - all to help me load/park etc at my field which has no lights/electricity

has anyone else done that? can anyone foresee a problem i've missed?!

Probably makes very good sense to have reversing lights and one I had never thought of (doh)

Not related to the electricty side but if you are having to park up in the dark, what I used to do when bringing home the lorry in pitch dark was some white painted markers to make it easier! They were "generous" but meant I could reverse in without worrying about hitting anything in the dark

Just to add to this. If you are putting it in a 'bay' in the field, if you could put something in the ground (flush) like a wooden stake and have it level with the drivers door or front wheel when you are correctly parked, it will allow you to back up precisely to a givien point without risk of going too far and hitting anything.

Reversing lights sound like a great idea! However good you are at reversing, it's darn hard when you can't see much. My trailer gets parked in a barn, and I'm wiring in a light this weekend having last weekend played the 'oh dear, I can't see' game and hopped in and out the car several times to look at the back end!
