Finally got to see the Dr at the local hospital today for a definite diagnosis on what happening with my hands and elbows. Blood tests came back border line so was referred by my GP

It turns out after lots of prodding and poking and testing of reflexes :p :D that I do not have RA. What I do have however is tennis elbow in my left elbow and golfers elbow in the right elbow and tendonitis in my right shoulder. My options for treatment were cortisone injections  which received a firm No Thank You, elbow clip thingies - yes please physio also yes please :D Got to have an ultrasound on my right hand to find out what is causing the pain and discomfort there.

Have to go back to see the Dr in February and need to have 2 lots of blood tests between now and then to check inflammation levels.

Thanks for all the previous support I got from you folks with RA. I really do appreciate it and wish you all the best :D :D

thats great news )

i take it you feel well in yourself and not overly tired? no cough/breathlessness?

reason i ask is my hubby went through weeks and weeks of them thinking he had RA, and it turned out the pain and swelling in his joints was a symptom of sarcoidosis. He hadnt really had the other symptoms but a chest xray showed the lumps round his lungs. It didnt need treated though and he is fine now, back playing rugby. Just thought id mention it as we had never heard of it and apparently it often goes undiagnosed.

I feel great in myself thanks :D

Never had any problems with tiredness or breathlessness luckily which is probably just as well as my RI is a hard task master with me :p

Glad to hear your hubby is better now and back to his old self again :D

Very pleased you do not have RA - my Mum had it and it was horrendous, it was the reason she died really as she became very frail and contracted pneumonia. However I discovered quite by accident recently that having RA is highly protective in respect of Alzheimers. I wish my Mum could have known that - it would have been some small comfort for all the pain etc.

Hope your aches and pains disappear soon!!
