Good and bad report.

Elementary Open. Our best chance as we just missed out on a wild card last year, saw FMC, (writing), who gave me a big grin as we trotted by.

Up the CL, halt and salute, drop poll, spit contact out and refuse to get in front of rider's leg.

No major errors but everything was on half power as she simply refused to take the contact and go.

Very dissappointing score, deserved, finished about half way in a class she should have been in the top 5 of.
Whose fault.........................? Mine, entirely.

The night before I decided that as she had been working so well in the double at home, that'd I'd compete her in it. HUGE, EXPENSIVE mistake! I was so cross with myself for being so stupid.
Anyway, that's over and done with now.............

Onto the Medium Open. Back in snaffle, different mare altogether, up in front, into my hand and in front of the leg........yay!
Apart from a dodgy moment in the halt then rein back when she just forgot me for a moment and focussed on a horse being led round the roadway and ignored my aids for rein back,

, I felt we couldn't have gone any better atm.
Very pleased with our mark of 64.9% and 10th place. Had some big 'names' behind us too, so went from beating myself up to feeling quite chuffed with our performance.
Pics are up here if anyone wants a nosey..... http://www.imagepointevents.co.uk/

Click View and order event images, then Addington 20th Aug and on the sub menu drop down thingy, number 368.

Had a lovely long natter with EmBee..........Good Luck at Scope.

Fab result in the medium,

what a shame about the elem but hey we live and learn. Just hide the double so you don't get tempted next time!

WELL DONE wow thats fantastic. We got matching places, except I was in elem so a bit easier! You must be so happy, I am not looking forward to riding open with the next horse, all those scary people to compete against!!

Congrats for the medium, that is a fab result esp being behind the big guns! What a shame about the ele but at least you know the reason behind you score and it can be easily fixed

Well done

She looked like a lovely mare. Really like her.

She was exactly as you say - I wanted to pick her by the tail and head and stetch her out then pop her back in the arena, as she really looked as though she could be stunning! Glad you sorted her out for the Medium.

I did my best grin
