My horse started to snort alot when I rode him, had him scoped and he has very inflamed blood vessels, vet gave him a course of cortizone and gave him two weeks off, have just brought him back into work and he is no better, vet coming back tomorrow. Has anyone had anything similar or got any ideas.
thanks

Have you thought about using something other then shavings ? - the dust from them can cause reactions - my Old horse had emphasema (sp?) and shavings were as bad as straw for him - I tried him on shreded paper and the improvement was dramatic - may be worth a try ?!

The vet has been back taken blood samples to check for any signs of virus, but dont think there will be as pony is fine in every other way, also sending blood away to see if he is at risk of laminitis, if he isnt there is a cortizone injection they can have fortnightly but side effects can be laminitis. he seemed to develop this when I started to keep him in so have rugged up and turned away until January to see if it will sort its self out. Very frustrating.
