Rhino Wug Rubbing

My boy got the medium weight rhino wug for christmas and it has rubbed off quite alot of his mane infront of the wither- and he doesn't even wear it everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has this happened to anyone else? I've got other Rambo rugs which have never rubbed at all, so is it just the rhino ones?
Does the Rambo wug rub?
I don't know what to do now

my old mare had a rhino wug, and it never rubbed her. she wore it constanly all winter, and never had any probs.

My rhione wur has never ever rubber my horses mane out but she has most of this year been in the full neck rhino ( same weight - med ) and the join in that has rubbed alot of her mane out so at the mo on warmer dryer days in putting the wug back on her.

I have always bought rhino and the rambo are just a bit too much but i have always found the wug great.

Nothing you can do aside from waiting for it to grow back

They come back quite quickly.

I have a rambo jumbo stable wug with the half neck and thats fine on my boy. However his full neck rambo underrug does rub the lower parts of his mane.

Its something ive chosen to live with tbh, he gets so cold in winter that its the lesser or two evils.

Full lycra body suits underneath the rug will help to save it from harm next year.

I dont know why some do it and some dont :/ Although is your horse the grey in your sig? If so, be aware that they have much more delicate skin and are more prone to reactions and bits dropping off them. Thats about all i can suggest :/

As I said, my rambo jumbo stable wug doesnt rub jacks mane away but ive never tried a rhino on him. My beastie has a pretty huge neck from dressage also.

My mare has weatherbeeta and rhino, both rub outh about 1/4 of her mane every year!!!

I tried pulling it short to stop this, nothing works. But it does grow back quickly enough in the summer.

My stable rug (not a Rhino) has massacred my lad's mane, so I am going to sew an old bossy bin across the bit that is shredding his mane.

my pony as well - 1/3rd mane rubbed out from a wug plus - old wug never did this

will be getting her a hood for next winter from snuggy hoods to stop her losing her mane

not happy as I've got lots of Rambo/Rhino rugs and this has now happened to 2 with the new rhino pony wug pluses

Any half or full neck rug does this to my lad - only way to stop it is to have separate neck covers with him
