I have just bought a rather eye catching Blagdon cob (2 years old possibly a bit younger) who is definitely on the ribby and thin side. I want to feed him to promote his health and nutrition because I feel he will put weight on naturally now he's being well cared for. He's on rough grazing and will be in a field with hay too, and out 24/7 obviously resting mostly to grow and play. Any suggestions on feed to promote top line and growth, low in starch, sugar. What would you recommend?

my highland youngster gets a coffee mug of suregrow daily she is growing beautifully think it is about half rations as she gets some grass too but we dont have huge amounts and as she is in with fatties she needs the top up of a fibre feed with minerals and vitamins to grow properly. She is 14 months oldLIN_0381.jpg

**update** the grazing he's been put on is not as good as I thought, must be the dry weather and time of year. So he's now being fed thunderbrooks healthy muesli and high fibre nuts as I'm conscious not to follow the high protein fad and he's definitely showing signs of under nourishment.
Thanks for the advice 😊

My young cob was a bit poor when I got him - I fed him plenty of hay, good grass and also Spiller's daily balancer with a little hi fi and some linseed. I found he got quite hungry when in a growth spurt so would then add in some fast fibre to fill him up. He's now 3 (birthday today!) and is out at grass 247 with no additional feed apart from a bit of hay in the evening.
