There is one for sale near me at the moment, and would like to know how much they weigh unladen. Have asked the seller but waiting for them to let me know, wondering if its worth the trek to view it. Thanks :)

Thanks, not sure exactly how old it is. If I knew I'd just phone Rice and ask them....

Guessing its got to be around a tonne or slightly more? My towing vehicle tows 2.8t and I'd just be travelling a 15.3hh lightweight TB, but just curious really.

Depends on the floor.
Our Hunter, with new super wooden floor - I can push about by hand (No im not a body builder!)

We took it to the weighbridge and minus landy (and gubbins!) thought it weight about 1.1 tonnes.

MAM - now that was something I struggled with, even the dealers were tricky- best way is to look at the plate on the frame by the jockey wheel.

Whatever way i looked at it ( i presume your trying to avoid the trailer test here) - I either needed a car with such a small towing capacity it wouldnt handle the trailer and horse,,, or the trailer needed to shrink!

Rice Hunter = Trailer test...

Thanks all :-) figured it must be about a tonne. Quite like the europa's but just trying to find one near enough that isn't going to cost a bomb, bank balance a bit light after wedding!!

Is it a metal sided one or is it wooden? I had a Rice Beaufort which was in the era when they decided to put wooden panels in them. It weighed 990kg on a weigh bridge. Would have been slightly bigger than a IW505 and smaller than a IW510.
