Does anyone have any personal experience of using Richard Maxwell with their horse?

I have a niggly behavioural problem with my horse that is starting to escalate and I need to nip it in the bud. Reading about him and the way he does things leads me to think he may be my man.

Any experiences good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A friend of mine had him out to her untouched 3yr old when she bought it. I watched the entire session - he was fab. Worked magic with the horse and let me video it for her too.

my friend had a loading problem with her horse, she got stuck on christmas day, she couldnt get home and it took something like 4 hours so she decided enough was enough, she had him out and he spent a bit of time doing groundwork, by the end of it she was trotting up the ramp by herself and about 2 years on is still loading perfectly, i think he is really fantastic, well worth it. plus he is a really lovely man

Apparently he's very good but very expensive- years ago he quoted me £350 plus travel expenses for a 3/4 hour sessiion. John Jones is just as good and charges half that price!

Yes, he's good! I'd def recommend him.

I've watched him in an official demonstration and also when he spent an afternoon at our yard.
You can't go wrong with him in my experience, he knows his stuff, his methods are genuinely humane and extremely effective!
And he's a really friendly down to earth good 'ol honest bloke!

I can obviously only speak from my personal experience, but I was impressed and I don't recommend many.

He basically does exactly what Richard MAxwell does (uses the same methods- Hes based in Herefordshire and is a very kind, quiet man. I will find his site addy in a sec. He charged £180 plus travel expenses for "as long as it takes" will check for the addy now...

Have only ever heard good things about Richard Maxwell. Saw a demo of his a couple of years ago, and was very impressed. He is firm but fair with the horses, they respect him and he respects them. Echo what others have said about him being a really nice guy too, and a great sense of humour.

I rang Richard in the summer to come out, was quoted £400 this included travel expenses , 3-4 hours with horse and owner but he is booked up loads so if you rang now it might take about 8 weeks for him to come out, ( I didn't get him in end cos horse went lame plus didn't have any problems with her,was going to use it so I worked in total harmony with her)

Can you believe the guy doesnt have his own yard? lol

He has just moved in at the yard ive just left.

He is amazing with horses. Watching him work is amazing.

He's a very nice bloke to know.

As people have said he is firm but fair.

Cost a lady at the yard £300 for him to get her horse to load and he said he wouldn't leave till he would load perfectly.

I'm pretty sure he's the guy who rents the yard vanessa coath had at our stables - if it is, I've seen him working with a bonkers but gorgeous andalusian type and he was really calm and kind - I wouldn't worry about asking him for help if anything went wrong with coco. I presume money isn't an an object with you so I'd go for it - he seems genuinely nice.
