HI,

Has anyone had him come out to work on a problem or can anyone give me an idea of how much he charges for a visit? I have emailed him but just thought I would ask while I am waiting for a reply.
 
I looked into having him out but he wanted £350 plus £60 expenses for a half day session with my horse. It would have been cheaper if there were two of them apparently. Or if he had others in the local area- but to come out specifically for me it would have been a total of £410. I called a guy called John Jones who has a good reputation and uses the same methods and he was £260 all inclusive for the day. But in the end it was nothing my riding instructor couldnt solve so i have no idea if either of them actually make a difference.
 
I used him several years ago for a loading problem, he charged £250.00. He not only solved the problem but before he started spent a long time with my horse and found some minor issues in his neck which he put right. I did also have to dedicate a lot of time loading / unloading daily for a couple of weeks afterwards so we didn't loose all the good that Richard had done. A friend of mine used Michael Peace and he was also very good and also solved a loading problem and I think he was cheaper.
 
Could you not try some of his methods yourself? I had a loading problem some years ago and used his methods. For two weeks I worked my pony on the ground several times a day using Max's methods. The first time I tried to load him, it took just 10 minutes and after that I have never ever had a problem. His new book and DVD are excellent.
 
I had him out to Hannah and it worked out at £350ish in total. But he is absolutely marvellous and I would never have anyone else if I had another problem. It was the best money I have ever spent. Some people come out (I have had quite a few over the years) and do the work then leave you. Max comes out and gets you involved before the problem is solved so you know how to deal with problems should they arise.

Hannah now loads every time without hesitation... And it's been 2 years since he came! I could never even get her near the trailer, never mind in it. She was just so scared.

For the loading problem we can manage ourselves as he will go in eventually but it is for the clipper phobia. As soon as he sees the clippers he becomes very aggressive, ears back teeth bared lunging at us and even rearing if we do not put them away. I think he thought my daughter was holding them the other day and started on her (she actually had a new black hoof oil pot and brush) he is fine the rest of the time and I know we should put him in the stable with his hay and then just stand out of reach with the clippers until he stops but just thought it might be good to get some help to start with. It must be cheaper than paying for sedation every year to clip?
