ride Irish

I looked at them, prices are reasonable, but not cheap. I spoke to the lady who seemed nice, but ended up buying a different horse before i got down to see them.

What are you looking for?

if looking for bombproof then i'd avoid dealer unless they come recommended as it is unlikely the horse will have spent enough time there to prove itself as bombproof
bombproof horses are best sourced by word of mouth (IMO)

or bomb-proof.co.uk - haven't used them myself and they do seem a little on the expensive side but people seem to be happy with them

bomb-proof.co.uk are generally not from what I hear!

I can recommend www.stubleyhollowfarm.com for that type of horse. Patsy Day the propriator does take the time to get to know her horses and if you are straight with her about your ability etc, she will be careful not to sell you something unsuitable.

Hi,

If its Ride Irish that I went to near Guildford/Peper Harrow area??? then they are not bad at all. I helped a friend look for a new horse after hers was put down a couple of years ago.

We ended up with a nice tri coloured gelding, slightly younger than advertised, no passport (not a legal requirement at the time) and sold at the price she had to spend.... strange that eh!!

BUT he has turned out to be a thoroughly nice chap, the facilities are okay for trying them out and no high pressure sales stuff. The vetting was done by Anvil vets who may be linked to the dealer, so I would go for your own if poss (as per normal).

Chuck was the chap we dealt with and as I say the low pressure technique was very much evident.

He had some lovely horses in at the time, all of which were in excellent condition and kept beautifully.

I think the only thing that you would need to keep quiet is how much you have to spend as I feel my friend paid a good grand over the realistic price..... but thats my opinion, she could always have haggled, but didnt even try!!

Nice people, very very very helpful, horses turnt out well, no hard sell, huge turnover of horses so always have something to suit in.

Not all horses are what they say on the tin, I think very overpriced, but people are willing to pay the money so hey good luck to him.

Take your own vet is all I will say.
