I know this has possibly been done to death and is a contentious issue but genuinely a little bit worried I’m too big for my new pony I bought about 6 weeks ago.
Him - 14 yr old light/medium weight cob cross (small amount of feather on lower legs) 14.1-2 at withers. Weightaped at approx 385kg and needs to put a bit on and more top line.
Me - 44 yr old 5ft 3inches, 54 kg clothes. Lightish saddle company saddle probably weighing 4-5kg.

I keep asking fellow liveries but feel they may be being too polite to tell me the truth. We’re only happy hackers, walk, trot and the odd canter. Ridden 3/4 times/week for an hour or so so nothing strenuous

You are nowhere near being to heavy for your pony, stop worrying and go and have fun.

I generally have a lower weight limit rule than other people, by the way.

I'm heavier and my pony is about the same and we're a very good match. I'm much taller than you so I'm a little willowy on my pony, but nonetheless, we're STILL a good match :)

Enjoy him!

With the ponies estimated weight he can carry a total of 77kg based on 20% rule including tack
So you should be good 😊
