ATTENTION **
** please can everyone share. **
Information needed on the driver and the where abouts of the car that hit a horse and young rider at approximately 4.15pm
24 th July.
Wall hill road. Corley Coventry
Believed to be A grey /silver VW polo
The driver left the scene of an accident driving away
Leaving a child in the road after hitting the horse so hard the impact knocked the young rider clean off the horse.
Leaving a horse and rider seriously injured .
Someone must know if your friend ,brother ,sister loved one or neighbour returned with damage to their car and minus a passenger side wing mirror !! Which you left at the scene of the accident .
How could you drive away !!!!!!
Ironically there was a speed awareness campaign a little further down the lane so police were in attendance quickly .
This driver must be familiar with the area you seemed to disappear very quickly !!
Please if anyone has any house or car dash cam CCTV camera footage from this time on the Wall hill road from the
red lion end down to Hollyfast lane.
We are desperate to find this coward who has left a young girl with a fractured hip and horse who is now on critical care at the equine hospital .
Our lanes have become a real liability with drivers totally oblivious to what they may encounter on a country lane.
Our lane often used as a race track and rat runs.
Many drivers exceeding the national speed limit on these narrow lanes
It was only last week residents met with the highway agency to discuss the issues and dangers on our lanes. but sadly we were met with same response as always. the council has no money to deal with this problem at issue
What is it going to take for the @coventry city council to accept this is a real problem to all road users.
We are not a priority and our rural lanes are not top of the list.
This problem is only getting worse with the increased development on our doorstep . When are the council going to accept they need to protect all road users. !!!! When you insist on building around us.
This could quite easily been a fatality of horse and rider yesterday and a thank god it wasn’t.
Thanks to the quick reaction of the second rider who secured the pony and went to the aid of her friend.
How is this allowed to happen to a perfectly behaved pony a rider in high visibility clothing and riding correctly and responsibly
When are we going to be heard.
The pony is not out of the woods yet currently being treated in the equine hospital.
The young rider has a leg fracture
This must not just become another statistic !!!
Something needs to be done now to make our lanes safer. And protect us and not in a few years as was suggested last week !!!!
No more no budget bull shit
If the driver who did this has any morals please do the right thing and go to the police and report your self .
Who actually leaves a kid and horse injured in the road !!!!!!
You need to take a long hard look at yourself !!!
Please share.
This driver needs to be found.
Please help tag anyone that can help make our roads safe.

Shared on my social media. Some people are just awful! A child (14 yrs, competent rider) from my yard recently had a driver rev and beep behind her, speeding towards her pony then slamming on the breaks. The normally unflappable pony started dancing a bit, probably as rider got nervous and ended up slipping over on the hot tarmac, spilling the child onto the road. Car swerved past child on road (thankfully pony got up and stayed still) and sped off. Who even does that? Wasn't a golf or I'd assume the same p***k as from your post. Thankfully no injuries on our end, but police therefore quite disinterested as child couldn't give a good description of vehicle/driver.

That's shocking. I hope they have cctv or doorcam footage - someone will know who this is and people rarely stay quiet when a child is involved.

My headcam has been the best investment for slowing drivers down. They arent slowing for the horse (& we're high viz top to toe) but they brake when they spot the camera sticking out of my hat. Says a lot that most are prepared to drive past too fast but don't wish to have evidence sent to police.

Between this and the other thread on someone being blocked in by a random male driver when attempting to pull out of their vets property, I'm wondering how/why there are so many psychopaths behind the wheel?

To just leave a kid (or anyone) in the road. To f*ck with them and intend to cause harm. WTF. That's reckless and unstable behavior. If caught, their drivers license should be revoked. End of.

It's actually a real and sad depiction of society though; the reoccurring theme of not wanting to take responsibility for one's actions. Completely deranged.

I'm so sorry that this happened to that kid and her pony (and anyone else, really!). Both will no doubt suffer from physical and mental trauma due to some piece or excrement that should no longer be able to drive or own an automobile.

Ditto, cars noticeably slow when they see the head cam.

Hope this child and her pony recover quickly

Any incidents should be reported to the police (ensure that they provide you with an incident number so that you know it has been recorded on their system and also the BHS Horsei App which uses these details to demonstrate hot spots. As above wear a front rear Hat Cam.
