Ridiculously excited.........

A few years back I was walking into town and the Shrewsbury flower show had been on with the showjumping. Look to my right and I'm right alongside Di Lampards lorry with 3 beautiful greys looking out, I was starstruck for some time!
Last flower show I was stood between the collecting ring and main ring in the stewards walkway (stable my ponies with the lady who does the collecting ring) turned around and Tim Stockdale is stood watching the jumping next to me. Even more starstruck that time!

Pippa and William Funnell were on the seats behind me on the train the other day...i had the little debate in my head on 'do i or don't i say hi'...i figured that i would just mash my words and make a prat out of myself if i did approach them, so i left them alone! :)

Sat at a roundabout near Barnsley in the middle of the night and an absolutely mahoosive box went past with whittaker on the side. I was starstruck!!!

Lol. It's really not as interesting as it sounds. I was about 10yo and at Hickstead, being a cheeky little rat I just found my way to where they were all warming up/ hanging around and met loads of showjumpers.. John and Michael Whitaker, Geoff Billington, Nick Skelton, Jos Lansink and a few others whose names I can't remember right now! I had a wee autograph book :D

I got JW to sign my arm?!?!?! What a weird kid I was.

My claim to fame is...... Harvey Smith and his young sons helped tow my (parents) trailer out of the mud at a show once! Back in the 80's sometime..... :D

We got called out to rescue some horses from a broken down lorry recently,
got quite excited when i was told one was going to the Eilbergs yard.
Unfortunately was about 10.30 at night when we got there so could not
see too much but still looked lovely from what i could see.Makes me quite
envious when we deliver to such beautiful yards, dream on:

Was at a 'posh' dinner function with work one night and turned round to comment about the standing for the queen and family palaver, realised was sat next to Mary King. She was very nice tho not that interested in the fact she had signed a copy of her book for me at Olympia the previous year! Did she not remember me Lol!

But never mind that claim to fame, my friend has a friend who keeps her horses with Andrew Gould and she went with him to Katy Price's house the other day. But, she was out. And they only saw her pink lorry.

Chuckle, I drove behind Ginger Mccain's horse box years ago, just after I'd read his book & just about exploded with excitement!!

So I'm just as sad too :D

I'd be excited too on that one - His story is amazing and a true inspiration on what grit, guts and belief can bring you if you have the drive for success.

If it's any consilation - the Eilbergs yard is as beautiful as you imagined it would be. x

I met Tim stockdale at the south west equine fair a few years ago.. Was so star struck I was speech less but did manage to come out with.. "your my hero." ok.. WTF. massive embarrassing moment, my friend was wetting herself laughing!!

Last year Ollie townend was stood next to me at the ring and my oh asked if I wanted to say hi but i couldn't incase I came out with something worse that your my hero.. "marry me!!!!!" :/

In the early 1970s (Red Rum era) Ginger McCain used to exercise his horses in the field next to where I worked and kept my old horse Bamber. They built some practise hurdles and would gallop the horses over them. Bamber would trot up and down on his side of the fence a few yards away, snorting with excitement and I'd stand and watch.

To be honest, what I remember most is how much yelling, cursing and swearing they all did, especially Mr McCain himself! Maybe I'd lead a rather sheltered life.

I once bought a horse from a lady who shared her yard with Carl Hester (He was waiting to move into his new yard so was 'lodging' with her). Anyway saw him from a distance and then said I would love a lesson with him. She gave me his mobile number but never had the guts to phone and book a lesson.

Some years later I lost my phone when walking the dogs. A lady picked it up and scanned down the numbers to see if my home number was there. Seeing Carl's number in capital letters (sad I know) she rang it and had a conversation about finding the phone and did he know who this number belonged to? He was driving along the motorway and had absolutely no idea who she was talking about! When I did eventually get my phone back from her she said he was a very nice well spoken young man...:)
