riding after carpal tunnel surgery

anyone had the surgery and how long did you wait until you rode again?
I'm 3 &half weeks post op with limited grip but i'm itching to start riding again after having the whole winter off! horse is on her last week of box rest and she's been off all winter too so it will be gentle riding for the both of us

My friend took longer than she imagined to get back in the saddle, about a month I think. She was told by surgeon she'd be back as soon as the stitches were out - the district nurses laughed when she told them that. Her horse is very strong though, so she needed a decent grip! It came down to her deciding when she was comfortable enough to start again.

all being well then me and the big bird will be ready to go at the same time although i may get a friend to get on her first haha
