I have managed to get an appointment to see a chiropractor on Friday as have done something to my neck and it keeps clicking! However, I have a lesson booked for Saturday and am thinking it may not be a good idea to go jumping the following day after getting myself sorted out. What do you think? Do you normally wait a few days before doing anything too taxing?

You'll probably be quite sore the day after treatment so I wouldn't go jumping. My chiropractor bans me from mucking out or lifting anything for 24 hours but says I can ride quietly.

Can you wait and see what the chiropractor says or do you need to enter before then? Mine (who is also a rider so knows how it feels not just what the science says!) normally says it's ok to ride but not to jump for a couple of days, but my problems are lower back, the neck might be different?

I too would say take it easy the very next day, because your body will still be getting used to the adjustments made, and may be stiff or sore. Over exertion increases the possibility of all of the chiropractors' good work being undone.

Thanks everyone, that's kind of what I was thinking. I normally suffer with my lower back and that doesn't seem to do it any harm to go for a hack or something the next day, but I'm thinking that jumping might not be too good for the neck. Boo hoo.

To go against the grain, I never did anything differently after the chiropractor and neither did I hurt! Can't remember her telling me not to ride/jump etc.

Go, Andrew lessons are few and far between and I was going to come with lec and go XC schooling with someone and watch some lesson etc so could have said hi!

I usually leave it 24-48 hours before riding after going to the chiro unless she says longer. Otherwise I think its a bit of a waste of money if you dont let your body adjust to its new way of being.
