Riding and leading

Do you/would you ride and lead? The other day my mum rode her mare (Mollie) and lead Mystic (i had no saddle for him) and i lead my 3yr old (Monty) on foot. Now i have borrowed a saddle for Mystic til mine is repaired i am thinking about riding him and leading Monty, they are both good in traffic, would it be a good idea or not?

Try it in your field first. Are they both quiet?

Mystic i know would be fine, Monty was quiet when i took him out last. The only time i have problems with him is when i try to take him out of the field on his own and he tries to go back to his part of the field and has reared, fine once out of field gate. I usually lead them in from the field together.
