Riding animals - apart from horses?

I used to regularly ride the old friendly moo at my Uncles farm in Devon round the yard and the orchards - she was called Bambi and those were the days before I persuaded my parents to let me take up horseriding!! ;) no hat, no body protector, no tack..!! Just a headcollar!
I apparently used to sit on the dogs when I was a baby too...

Ps I did smile at the video - imagine being able to say you'd done that!

at my granny's farm i used to have a pet cow (No 5- the tag in her ear) we used to go up every weekend and i would run from the car to the field gate shout come on no 5 and she would bomb up to the gate stand by the gate and let me climb on her back used to spend most of my time sitting on her back while she would graze, there was also a bull that dad used to chuck me on when we were checking the cows each morning
i was saving up for a pony!!

Ive got a pet bullock which I ride occasionally with a headcollar and lead rope. Ive also jumped on a cow to get over a really shitty bit of ground when I only had flip flops on. Amazing how cows jusy dont care when you sit on them!

and I have a video (an actual video cassette) of my grandparents on ostriches!

My friend and I used to have competitions to see who could stay on her dad's tamworth sows the longest, while they charged off squealing.. We rarely lasted all that long. They were good at finding low branches too....
Have also ridden bullocks - great fun, if a little slow and ambling...
Was known for riding Misty the milking goat when I was about 4. Not surprised that mum did actually buy me the pony I wanted when I was 7... Probably to save me being killed by a rampaging pig. NB Tamworth sows are NOT friendly, do not try it!!!

They are evil! And those teeth! We never went even close to the fence when they had piglets though... I took up keeping and breeding kune kune pigs - much friendlier, cuddlier and completely fine with you playing with their babies. Sadly much too small to ride ;);)
