Riding bareback ?

I haven't since I was cantering a pony I used to have down the field bareback and just with a leadrope. Done it plenty of times before, but on this occassion he spooked, went too close to the fence and I fell off onto a fencepost. The bruise on my leg was quite a wopper! My current horse is WAY too withery and bony for it (TB x)!!

i used to ride my old pony BB a lot and had some lessons BB. I have now got my TB and have ridden him BB but he dont really like it he makes bit of an issue of it and he has got very high withers! but i always chuck my 2 year old son on his mini shetland BB coming in from the field or just having a mooch about. Its not done him any harm he can sit to her little buck!!!!!

just remembered we used to do it now and again at the riding school. Bareback lessons in summer, great for seat but could be chaos! Especially since we all wanted to do it on our favourite (often unpredictable) ponies and not the safe ones hehe. Don't think they would get away with that now though :/

Lol, not riding Dizz bareback until she has some muscle round the base of her wither :D

D1 rides bareback quite a lot... I was mean and made her jump bareback lol :)

Don't do it on a horse that is moulting whilst wearing cream jodphurs. I found that out today and ended up with a ginger butt :D

I love riding bareback (Jess with Pickle got me into it), but with out a saddle I wasn’t sure which way I was meant to sit!

Bodey is actually quite comfy! :)

Everyday atm as hairy cob has no saddle!

Lol. He's super wide, super comfy and super easy though so it's great fun! Hacking, jumping, schooling, hopping on randomly in the field....you name it it's bareback! lol.

Though my legs and abs are officially knackered atm lol, especially after 3to 4 hours hacks!!!!
