Interesting.

I do hope some of the comments don't put people off such as 'hunting boots are strictly of the pull on variety'

I'm 26, so not even close to the age of some people on the field, but I cannot physically get a pull on boot on, or if I do, off again! I have fairly immobile ankles.

If I were to be too worried by that comment, I might not make it out! I shall continue to wear my zipped boots!

I think the theory of non zipped boots is the support they offer and the longevity as zips will wear out over time -my everyday long boots are still my 1st pair -bought in 1983!

Zips are practical and fashionable as competition wear (and you can always put a new zip in lol! )

I think the article was only saying what is the norm for true hunting boots. Obviously a cursory glance round at almost any hunt meet is likely to reveal all manner of boot being worn, and who really cares? I doubt whether any serious person is going to judge you or even notice if you have zipped boots - surely the last thing I or anyone would want is for someone to be put off hunting for a trivial reason like that.
