Many years ago I went for a days worth of lessons (3 lessons plus lunch etc) at a riding center which I think was in Wrexham, you could also take your own horse and do a weeks stay etc and pick various disciplines to work on etc. Does anyone know if it still exists or any other place that offers similar within a couple of hours from Yorkshire?

I did a 5 day riding holiday there once, it was lovely but I don't think it's exists anymore. If you've got your own horse, how about the Yorkshire Riding Centre, I'd love a few days there.

Hi. I do have my own but wanting an intense training day on a variety of horses - I had a bad fall 2 years ago and I want to get my confidence back riding a variety of horses other than my own and also improve my riding/jumping.

Overleigh Equestrian Centre in Acrefair, absolutely amazing service, not too advanced but they offer a wide range of ponies and horses for people of all shapes and sizes and very cheap prices too with a livery yard aswell

I did some training at Snainton Riding Centre for my II, and they had a variety of horses. Charlotte is an extremely skilled trainer. Not been there for a few years, but think it is still running. Nice place for out of hours too if you stay nearby, near the coast.

Just did a search, and they are indeed still open, and train the York University equestrian team so presumably have reasonable horses. They certainly had FAB dressage schoolmasters when I went, learned changes, piaffe and passage and even a canter half pirouette. The jump horses were good too.

I think the place you are referring to near Wrexham was the Hope Equestrian Centre. I went there with my daughter for a 5 day holiday must be about 16 years ago. We had a great time doing flat, jumping and cross country lessons on their horses. However it was up for sale at the time and it closed down. No idea what has happened there since.

Hope equestrian centre still there but just as an event place, riding club comps and BD and BS events. Don’t think any liveries now but they do hire the indoor and outdoor schools by the hour
