Been years since I did a 1 day event as i changed disciplines completely so I need to round up/ buy stuff for an event in 3 weeks and need to just check ...

My questions are a little stupid but its my first competition in uk too!

1. Is it ok for dressage to wear my skull cap with silk? (my nice velvet peak hat is AWOL for ages now) (and skull is regulation for xc)
2. White or black gloves for dressage?
3. Shirt for dressage - blue and White striped jumping shirt ok or do I need to go buy a new White one? Am assuming that White stock and showjacket means shirt wont be seen
4. For xc - are long sleeves compulsory for RC events?
5. Square cut White poly pad ok for dressage or does it have to be saddle cut?
6. Assuming simple snaffle only for dressage but - can I use a flash?
7. White bandages or dressage or not?

Sorry for the dim questions, I seem to have forgotten all I know about events and dressage specifically ;) all help greatly appreciated

Scull cap with silk is fine.
White gloves
If shirt covered by stock that is fine
Square for dressage
Yes you can use a flash,
No boots or bandages for dressage, you can warm up in them but remember to remove.

Not sure about long sleeves for xc but they are usually expected so play safe.
No whips in dressage but otherwise rules will be much as BD.

1 - skull is fine, I only ever use a skull
2- white preferred, not 100% sure you can't have black as you can for BE
3 - sensible shirt is fine, bear in mind if its mega hot they may let you go jacketless so not big stripes but usual show shirt is fine
4 - think its long sleeve, trust me, if it goes wrong you will appreciate them!
5 - square is fine, only type I have
6 - flash fine, drop fine, not sure but think even grackle OK for eventing
7 - not leg wear during the test, for warm up whatever you like, depends how flashy you feel!

Long sleeves XC please, even if it's not compulsory! If you have a silly fall, they can save you skinning your arm, which really hurts for ages afterwards. Landing and skidding on hard ground is horrible- I ripped sleeves in the past doing that, made me so grateful that wasn't skin ripping!
