Sorry, numpty question here..

Will be doing a Riding Club Horse class soon, and I don't know much about these things.
Is it usual to have to do a Show - and if so what would you recommend (I'm presuming simple is best).
And if you are riding a Native type, is it OK to be untrimmed, main/tail au naturel etc?
Thank you!

Yes you can go native turnout, simple show as normal and may be required to jump one small jump in a stylish manner!

If you have a native, then you should show it as a native. Don't try plaiting unless you are trimmed, and the mane pulled short enough to do tidy little plaits.
Keep your show short and sweet. Teach your horse to stand square, walk away from the judge in a straight line, trot, canter and change rein, show some extended canter if you are in control! and halt and salute sideways on to the judge - not too close. Smile and enjoy!
Try to watch some good rider and horse/pony combinations before you go - and good luck.

Thank you... will have a practice tomorrow. And good news about the plaiting!!
