Hi there,

I've been scrolling through H&H threads and the internet both last night and this morning in a bit of a panic about the dress code for Riding Club Horse. I have the following questions still outstanding and would be very grateful if you could answer them?

Thanks in advance as always!

1. Generally it would appear that wearing a tweed jacket and beige breeches is best, but my horse is v.dark brown/black. For dressage I wear white breeches and a black jacket which I think looks more presentable - I would prefer to wear this combination. I do have both - which is best please?

2. Are spurs acceptable? The schedule doesn't state and I will check with the steward, but if I am allowed, will this mark me down? I don't have to wear them, but he goes so much better on the day with them.

3. Finally - I have a black saddlecloth that blends well with him - I don't have a numnah, but I do have a white saddle pad that sits under the saddle. Which would be best please?

I know I have left this a little late - but I felt quite confident up until about 24 hours ago! :)

Just had a quick scout about and it seems that some do state no spurs in their schedules - but if they haven't I would assume it'd be okay? Tweed jacket is prefereable.

I'm sure lots more will be able to give you advice though. Good luck x

Tweed and beige would be preferable for showing.
I would assume if they havnt stated no spurs then you are allowed them :)
And I wouldn't have a saddle cloth, id prefer to have nothing under the saddle. Can you not borrow a numnah from someone?

Good luck later

Thanks both - I have just re-packed my kit.

I shall now wear my tweed jacket and beige breeches.

I shall take my spurs and see when I get there - how he feels and how the steward feels.

I am not sure what to do about a numnah - I do have a black one with a thin white band around the edge that I had forgotten about - so perhaps that?

Thanks again - I am very grateful for your advice!
