Hi

Do riding clubs have an upper age limit?

Are novices ok to join? What sort of things do you do?

Thanks

Our local riding club has no upper age limit, I judged a dressage test for a lady that I found out later was 78yrs old! they usually insist you are 17yrs and above. They usually cover clinics - SJ & DR, SJ & DR competitions, XC & ODE plus lectures, and quizz nights too, ours has an open summer show which also has showing, they do trips to Olympia etc, its great fun for all standards of riding so novices are welcome too.

We've got 2 members in our Club who've belonged since it started 60yrs ago! One of those ladies still competes in our dressage shows and does well !!

We don't have any age limits at all, you can be as young or as old as you like! Most are very encouraging to novices, we even have a novice show in the summer.
At our club we have subsidised training, shows, socials, trips to Burleigh etc and a summer camp. All abilities are catered for from novice to advanced. For those who want to there are opportunities to compete to qualify for the National Championships.
I've been a member of my local riding club for years and have had great fun and met some lovely people.

Hello,

Our riding club has no upper age limit and we have juniors too. We do all sorts, xcountry, showjumping, dressage (including training in each) mounted games, fun days, shows, le trec, quiz nights, adult horse camp. It's all good fun although some times it is all taken a bit seriously for my liking and it would be good to have some more un-competition-y (?)things like pub rides, bbq's that type of thing.

Our Riding Club doesn't have an upper age limit - you just become a senior on your 17th birthday. The only lower age limit we enforce is that you are old enough to wear a hat that fits correctly, we hold SJ shows which offer lead rein classes upto Open height and dressage shows which do Walk/Trot (incl. lead rein) upto Novice (although are hoping to do Elementarys soon)

Our riding club is of the policy that everyone pays equal membership fee and so is entitled to the same benefits e.g. competing at qualifiers etc - we often find the so-called "novice" teams do better then the "top" teams

No upper age limit for solent rc... Generally do training in dressage, SJ, XC. Annual summer show, BBQ etc. All very fun! Tehe I'm going on an adult camp next week.

Our riding club has no upper age limit, juniors are up to 17. Our ghymkana's have a very good attendance, with most of the competitors being over 40

It does make some of the games where you have to remount a little tricky, but there are usually people there who will give you a leg up
