Hi,

Am looking for a good pair of riding gloves. I've been using my cycling gloves but now theyre worn out. I need it to have very good grip and yet be very thin (almost like I'm not wearing anything). But they also need to last.

Any suggestions?

I've been looking at sealskinz ultragrip but dunno how thin they are?

Thanks
Jeremy

I have just bought some Ariat tech grip ones and I love them, they are reasonably priced, thin and warm. A friend has had some for years and they have lasted well too - well worth the money. If money is no object then Roekl (sp?) ones are great as well, I tried some on and they are the thinnest I could find, and look really smart. I couldn't really justify spending the extra £15 on them though, and the ariats are almost as nice!

If you are looking for cheapies that are warm, we found thin warm running gloves at Sports Direct that had grippy bits on the fingers. Can't remember the make I'm afraid. However they worked well as riding gloves ( lost already).

MacWet every time! I wore mine hunting on the wettest days and had amazing grip and they are so thin and comfy I forgot I was wearing them. I won't use anything else now.

Roeckl are ok but if you use them in conjunction with rubber reins you'll rub holes in them. Ariats are far better & last much longer.

I ride with rubber reins and haven't noticed this but I am a one horse owner who rides 4-6 times a week - maybe different if you ride many horses a day.

My daughter only likes thin gloves, and her current favourites are CarrotsUK competition gloves. They seem to last well, are only £15 or so if that, seem to grip finem, even if wet and she uses them with rubber reins. Her oldest pair are probably 3 or 4 years old and still going strong (has 2 in rotation and a 'best' show pair.

Wow thanks for all the replies!!

Ok so Im looking at the ariat (air grip), roeckl (chester) and macwets.

Will the above keep my hands warmish in the winter too or do I need to go for winter gloves? I want an all year round glove (ie not too warm for summer but not too cold for winter).

Any further advice?

Thanks so much
