Hi!
I am looking to buy a new hat. Have always ridden in a traditional velvet hat (which I do like the look of) but really wanting a vented style as I'm fed up having a hot, sweaty head!!
My budget is around £100 (could go a little higher). Can anyone recommend a vented design that has a high safety standard?

Many thanks and Merry Christmas :)

Does it have to be a fixed peak type? I love my Charles Owen 4star. It has this handy vent thing in the front of the padding, so you don't et sweat head or the red mark on your forehead and is the comfiest hat I have worn. It's also really well tested. My noggin feels safe and comfortable :)

As the sales get underway just be aware that anything marked only (BS)EN 1384 is not going to be usable for competing (other than in some showing classes where the new rules have been delayed until 2017) as the standard is now obsolete. It can be marked (BS)EN as well as anything else - usually PAS 015, but there are higher standards. But the (BS)EN mark alone is not enough. I'm sure retailers will be selling off any left over stock cheaply.

Champion do some nice velvet style vented hats - but I've a Charles Own Pro vented - and love it.

I like the new Gatehouse Chelsea hats and am intending to see if I can find one in the sales this week. It's PAS015 approved

I've used my Champion Ventair for several years now and find it really comfortable. A little bit warm in summer so I need to wash the lining some times...
