I was trying to find myself a nice lightweight breathable hat in the summer, but none of them seemed the right shape for my head.

Yesterday in Tesco's I found a hat that has an adjustable dial on the back. I tried it on and although the hat couldn't fall off the actuall hat seemed to sit no where near my head.

My question is, can this really be safe ?????? It has the british and the european saftey standards on, but I'm not convinced. Is there anyone that knows about hats and whats your opinions on these.

I have a Polly hat for summer... fits me nicely and its great in really warm weather...

They - like all hats - dont fit all head shapes and I dont think you should really be able to get one from Tesco without recieveing advice on fitting or something....

Hats from Tescos bring me out in a rash, as someone who has passed a hat fitters test i feel they should not be selling vital safety info. Of all the ones i have seen none have fitted properly even though they are right size. They look nasty and i certainly would not wear one. They do not have a British standards kitemark (unless they have recently changed them) and therefore are not up to Pony Club standards let alone anything else! It annoys me that they also take hats back if you buy the wrong size! What do they then do with the, how can they resell when they dont know what has happened to them! I think that you should only be able to sell hats and body protectors if someone qualified fits them! Rant over
