Hi there can anyone recommend a good riding holiday in the US? I am thinking of taking my OH for a week or so in late August/beginning of September. Ideally reasonably priced, spectacular landscape & where they let you canter! The accomodation does not have to be fancy.

i would go to anywhere in colorado. its western riding there, but landscape is beutifull, go anywhere wich rides in rocky mountains. all places there let you canter. and a hat is optional. most poeple didnt when i lived there. western saddles really hold you in haha, wichi s just as well as you should see some of the idiots that ride. in a lot of places in us, you sign a disclaimer to ride. have fun

Friend of mine has just been to Montana on a cattle drive and loved it. The company is small, and seems family run. There were only six in total on his trip, sleeping out in tents and moving from place to place. Scenary was fantastic. Horses were not plods but proper working animals and you did need a reasonable level of ability as the terrain was varaiable. If you'd like to know any more pm me!
