Riding horse or hunter??

What is the furthest you would be prepared to travel every day if you found a perfect yard?

thanks.. i have high hopes for her! lw hunter isnt an option, its a chaps show, option is hunter type ..

i was thinking more hunter. but then someone said no riding horse.. i just dont think shes delicate enough for riding horse..

id do both classes but have someone else showing her tomorrow as ive got a broken rib. so need to keep it short and sweet.

She's just a tad heavy set for my riding horse idea, but think she'd make a crackin hunter entry - but if you have time look at the frames of your potential competition, that should seal the deal! x

Defo hunter!

Riding horse has to be your classical hacking horse...fine built and very lightweight.

Your horse is a bit heavier set, altho by no means, a heavyweight if you know what I mean. Lovely boy!!

OK, I am going to be contraversial here - I don't do showing! So I looked at the first pic, and thought wonderful action, dressage? I looked at the others, and thought lovely coloured, great markings. Then I tried to imagine the same horse as a black, bay or Chestnut, and thought, short coupled, rather long neck.....what is its job? I could only judge that by riding it, knowing its attitude etc. What do you think that it will be good at? I would suspect that in the showing ring it will do very well in coloured classes, but if you were to try and do, say young event classes, then it would be based on ability - sorry, probably not the response you were wanting.

well mare was breed to event. to me she will be an allrounder mainly aimed at showing. coloured clases go with out saying as will be doing chaps etc.

if anything id say riding horse..

I think I would put her in the 'please come and put her in my field class' !

If you really must take her showing instead of making the trip to drop her up here, I think shes more a hunter type

LOL shes a cutie to be fair, had a few set backs (only had her a few weeks.) but as soppy as they come but with the typical mare attitde!

She will look a very different horse when you have trimmed her up .Pull her mane and tail.Trim her whiskers and chin. Also the inside of her ears.Definately take off those feathers. And cut her tail to the point of her hock.TAA DAA....You then will have a very nice ladies /lightweight hunter.
Have edited this as have just realised that the last photo of her shows her recently trimmed.Sorry missed that first time round.
Still think you could be a little braver with the scissors with her tail length.I was always taught to trim tails to the point of hock when carried. It really can improve the look of a hunter.

whiskers gone..
feathers gone.
main on correct side and pulled
ears done
tail... nooooooooooooooo im not chopping that off... yet!
