Our sand school currently has about 1inch of standing water across the majority of the surface, goodness knows why because its right on top of a steep hill but it clearly has terrible drainage.

Would you ride in a flooded sand school or am I risking injury to her legs?

I currently have the same dilemma! Rode in it this morning. Was OK - no canter though but tbh the work wasn't very productive....

Is it large puddles or a complete covering of water?
You should be okay with large puddles I guess though you get splashed if you canter through them. One pony I used to ride used to jump them

At the riding school before they re-did both sand school we used to ride in them. The wood chip school (was the larger sand one) doesn't flood now, but the rubber one (smaller sand school) does if it rains heavily and we still ride in there.

Ours is flooded and I've been hacking out in the mornings. Its ok when there are just puddles you can aviod but I went for a walk round it this morning and its quite mushy all over and feels 'suctiony' (if thats a word!) - I won't ride in there until the majority of it is back to normal

Not just large puddles, there is about space to do a 15m circle at B and stay dry but the rest of it is under water. We had a bit of a walk and trot round but I didn't feel I could ask her to canter and there was no way that she could be asked to work properly or track up as she ploughed through the sludge

About half of ours gets flooded after heavy rain and the rest of the surface gets very soggy. We ride in it, although I'm careful about what I do. The bonus is that my horse never has a problem with water xc!
