Riding in Stanmer park, east sussex??

Has anyone ever ridden through Stanmer park before? Just wondering because today on the dog walk I saw some people that had bought there trailer over just to ride around stanmer park then they loaded up and went again.

I really want to ride around Stanmer park too .. So I was just wondering if you have to contact anyone and get permission first, or if you can just turn up??

yes i ride in stanmer park , lovely ride through the tree's , no you don't have to contact anyone you can just turn up and ride , they have a lovely cafe there where you can tie up the horses and have somethink to eat

Ah Lovely, Can you just park the horsebox anywhere?
I just got to wait for Ashleigh to get a saddle lol .. then we will be booking the Transport to go. So if your ever down there let us know and maybe we can all go for a nice hack through Stanmer Park .. and maybe some more HHOers .. Exciting stuff xx

i think you can park anywhere not really sure because i normal ride there for a long hack , yer would be good if a couple of us could meet up

Ah cool, where do you have you horses then? Ive tried googling it to see if I can find a contact number for Stanmer park but cant seem to find anything. I dont want to get fined for going there lol but I think it would be so good to go. xx

As lucy said its lovely riding we ride there from our yard takes a little while but well worth it

They used to do a lovely sponsored ride from Stanmer Park as part of the Brighton Festival but don't think they've done it for a while now - shame.

Check your dates as they do the horse driving trials there soon and that might make for quite an exciting ride!

Its just either flat or up hill! It would be a great work out for Gypsy around Stanmer park lol - walk and trot work, find a steep hill and it can do her bum muscles lol.

As said above check dates of driving trials or would be madness rara normally has ponies competing and will probably know.

When I was living in Brighton I always rode in Stamner park, had a horse kept next to the uni so just cut through to the park, loads of lovely rides Have fun!

Oh its a lovely place to ride. We used to do the sponsered ride there every year but they have stopped doing it. The village is very pretty and I think the farmthere is still a working one. Enjoy.
